MRT (Mass Rapid Transit)

Right, I shall start off with a few words about the MRT.

Basically, the MRT is a network of train lines (Not exactly so, but that is what we usually call it) that takes you around the country with the important assistance of carriages of course. Theres the East-West line, North-South line and the North-East line, and to be completed in 2009, the Circle line, as recognizable from the name, a circular line which goes around the central portion of the country; and this, I am really looking forward to, as that means I will be able to get to my German lesson easily after school without sacrificing my biological breaks.

So, this morning, I was taking my usual 30km route to school, and yes, the MRT was a crucial part of it. With much misfortune, it occured that line between Pasir Ris and Tanah Merah was disrupted for some apparent reason. The train probably broke down, or thinking with the mind of a sadist, a person jumped onto the tracks. Whatever the reason, SMRT(Singapore Mass Rapid Transit) provided free shuttlebuses to Tanah Merah. The waiting for the rides and the time taken for the bus to reach Tanah Merah cost me a delay of half an hour.

I reached school 15 minutes late. It was just past 8 am when i did, and the school side gate, where my bus stops at, closes at 8 am. That meant I had to do a early morning jog of some 500 metres in long pants and a polo tee shirt.

Though pocket burning, my suggestion to SMRT would be to build alternate train tracks at the eastern end of the East-West line and the North-Eastern end of the North East line. As the other portions, espescally the central are going to be connected extensively with the completion of the the circle line, they should not be a problem. But who will listen to the words of a 12 year old? Even if they will, I am too lazy to do so. Maybe some SMRT staff will come across this post, for who knows?
